To be quite honest, you’ll never walk into somewhere and tell them that you need a bad credit mortgage. They don’t exist. A mortgage for someone with adverse credit is one that is a standard mortgage on the market, the difference is that you’ll get a mortgage from a lender willing to offer it to you despite your credit history. With a sub-prime mortgage, you could find that your interest rates and charges are higher than the standard on the market, and this is because those with adverse credit are deemed to be less likely to pay the mortgage on time.

But hopefully this is only for the short-term, eventually your credit history will clear (subject to you keeping up to date with all your repayments on any credit) and at this time you may be accepted on a normal high street lender mortgage. By dealing with it, the worry, stress and anxiety goes. Can I Get A Mortgage With Bad Credit?

The interest rate on an adverse credit mortgage can be higher than a standard mortgage and you will more than likely need a larger deposit to hand, first. You will still need to fit the lenders criteria, and they all differ.
